Abstract
The Red Hod Project is an autobiographical series of performances and objects made for the actions. The origin of this project is my traumatic experience of sexual abuse, through documentation in video and photograph I present my journey that seeks for catharsis, liberation, and healing of wounds. I make an appropriation of the traditional fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood in order to subvert the role of the protagonist and empower her self because the original version of this tale is a metaphor for sexual violence as Susan Brownmiller points: “Red Riding Hood is a parable of rape. There are frightening male figures abroad in the woods- we call them wolves, among other names- and females are helpless before them. (…) If you are lucky, a good, friendly male may be able to save you from certain disaster.” In this project I adopt and embody the Red Hood and the huntsman characters at the same time, I become my own hero to defeat the wolf.
El proyecto Red Hood es una serie de performances autobiográficos y objetos hechos a para las acciones. El origen de este proyecto es mi trauma de la experiencia de abuso sexual, a través de la documentación en video y fotografía presento mi diario de viaje en busca de catarsis , liberación y sanción de heridas. Hago una apropiación del cuento tradicional de la Caperucita Roja, para subvertir el rol de la protagonista y empoderarlas, ya que la versión original de este cuento infantil es una metáfora de violencia sexual, como señala Susan Brownmiller: “La Caperucita Roja es una una parábola de violación. Hay figuras masculinas atemorizantes en el bosque- nosotros los llamamos lobos, entre otros nombres- y las figuras femeninas son indefensas ante ellos. (…) Sí tienes suerte, un hombre amable puede ser que te salve del cierto desastre”. En este proyecto yo adopto y encarno el personaje de la Caperucita Roja y el Cazador al mismo tiempo, yo me convierto en mi propio héroe para derrotar al lobo.

En este video performance se recrea y reconoce el trauma del abuso sexual infantil. Los personajes y escenario elaborados a mano son objetos necesarios para exponer el recuerdo íntimo, como gesto de denuncia. Aquí los personajes son un hombre con máscara de lobo y una niña. El proceso de recreación y documentación del abuso sexual que viví permite sanar la herida de un trauma intimo y colectivo.
This video performance recreates and acknowledges the trauma of child sexual abuse. The handmade characters and scenery are necessary objects to expose the intimate memory as a gesture of denunciation. Here the characters are a man with a wolf mask and a girl. The process of recreation and documentation of the sexual abuse that I experienced allows healing the wound of personal and collective trauma.

Esta performance, usa una memoria traumática como punto de partida. Desde mi infancia he tenido una pesadilla repetitiva: Me encuentro en una casa, parada junto a la puerta abierta, quiero escapar de ahí, pero un lobo está bloqueando la entrada, detrás de él millones de lobos corren hacia mi. Entiendo al lobo como un símbolo del abusador y con el objetivo de cambiar la narrativa de este sueño, lo recree con una performance.
Starting point. Since my childhood, I have had a repetitive nightmare: I find myself in a house, standing at the open door, I want to escape from there, but a wolf is blocking the entrance behind it millions, of wolves, running towards me. I understand the wolf as a symbol of the abuser. To change the narrative of this dream, I recreated it with a performance.
